Plan to improve P.B. reservoir approved

County Planning commissioners unanimously approved a plan to improve the existing Forest Lake Reservoir in Pebble Beach by adding a liner, under-drain system, and inlet and reconstructing the reservoir's north embankment.

The improvements were required to meet safety standards and will allow for storage of reclaimed water during the winter months for use on Pebble Beach golf courses during the summer.

Officials for the Pebble Beach Community Service District, the California-American Water Company and the Pebble Beach Co. all testified that the project is needed to help reduce the amount of potable water that is used on the courses.
