E T T E R S Vote for the future Editor: This water board election is about what our future is going to look like. This election addresses fundamental questions about what sort of lifestyle we will have on our Peninsula. Follow The Money, Part 1: Zan Henson, Kristi Markey and I received modest campaign contributions from our friends and neighbors. Our positions align us with homeowners, residents and environmental organizations. Our opponents represent special interests. They took multiple $5,000 contributions from political action committees, developers and the tourist industry. Special interests do not contribute money, they "invest" in candidates. They will want something in return for their money. Follow The Money, Part 2: Our opponents want to bring back the sale of water credits known as water profiteering. The public hated this outrageous practice. It benefits only a wealthy few. Henson, Markey and I oppose water profiteering. Follow The Money, Part 3: Our opponents want a big water project controlled by Cal-Am's foreign corporate parent--one that's not under the voters' control. That big project would trigger extensive development throughout the region. Development that you would pay for, through increases in your water rates. Henson, Markey and I believe that the public does not want to pay for a big project that will fuel growth. We believe the public should control water, not the private water company. Vote your interests, not special inerests. Vote for Zan Henson, Kristi Markey and me, Robert Pacelli, for water board. Thank you. Robert
