November 8, 2002 Dear Spanish Bay Residents, The Monterey County Planning Department has indicated that late this year the Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) on the Analysis of Measure "A" and Pebble Beach Company's pending application for a major development of company property in Del Monte Forest will be available for the public. The Concerned Residents of Pebble Beach and Monterey County response to the EIR will be made available for you as soon as possible. Our organization is concerned about the size of the proposed construction projects and the impact they will have on the residential community in many areas of Del Monte Forest including Spanish Bay. Your help is needed in convincing the decision makers that the proposed development plans must be reduced in size. We all need to communicate with PB Company representatives, County Commissioners and Supervisors, and the Coastal Commission Commissioners to request their help and action in reducing the number and size of the proposed major development projects. A list of individuals that should be contacted is enclosed. Also enclosed is material on the proposed development projects in your area, including 86 new hotel rooms, additional meeting rooms, a 443-space underground parking garage, renovated tennis courts, clubhouse, new golf driving range and building, and a 12 unit employee housing development.
