MESSAGE FROM HANNELORE COLE, PRESIDENT OF ASHTL'O GUILD:
- The CNCH 2005 conference did very well, sending $18,000 beyond returning its seed money and an additional sum of $2,000 to CNCH, Inc.
- The proposal is to make the $5 individual contribution mandatory. Currently the contribution is optional. Every member of each guild will pay $5 per member to CNCH, Inc. This fee will help defray CNCH, Inc. expenses. Two-thirds of the guilds must approve for it to go into effect.
- Ashtl'o needs to vote on a proposal made by the Advisory Council. Since many of Ashtl'o's members are out of state or too far away to come to the regular meetings to vote , please e-mail your vote to Hannelore Cole at webemit@sbcglobal.net, it is important for the livelihood of CNCH our mother organization and the annual conferences.
ONE RESPONSE BY BRUCE C. BELKNAP: "VOTING NO TO THE $5 FEE IS A CINCH"
- Speaking only as one member of Ashtl'o, I will vote "no" to the call for the mandatory fee proposal to raise everyone's dues to CNCH by $5.00.
- Elsewhere on this website and on the CNCH website, you can read explanations and rationale for raising the dues to compensate for (an unexplained) loss of revenue, while still offering to pay for insurance, scholarships, CiNCH Notes (Internet edition) and their non-profit website.
- Two thirds of the guilds must approve this proposal for it to go into effect. So if this first proposal is defeated, there would be another chance for CNCH to explain and promote raising additional operating capital by means of a different equation.
- I worry that Ashtl'o Guild will lose out-of-state members because of their objection to this additional, required fee which would be of little value to them. I will vote "No" to the mandatory $5 because it is inequitable to Ashtl'o Guild members.
